Born to Trish and Mark Landgren, a daughter, Elizabeth Capen Landgren. She is the sister to Anna and Anders Landgren and the grandaughter to Jane Landgren and Marilyn and Dick Nicklas. Her great Aunt is Patricia Squires-Brown. Great Uncles are David Squires and Bob Brown. Elizabeth will be “in residence” at the Squires Cottage in July.

Born to Victoria Burr of Portland, twin daughters born at 748 a.m., Kairi Christine, and Natalie Namine, Kairi weighed 5 pounds 7 ounces and Natalie weighed 5 pounds 5 ounces. Their grandmother is Beth LeSiege Copp, and their great-grandparents are Donald and Cheryl Buxbaum and Peter and Thalia Burr of Cumberland.

Mary Elizabeth “Ibbets” Glines Knapp 92, died peacefully at Kendal on Hudson in Sleepy Hollow with loving family by her side. She is a longtime friend and summer companion on Chebeague of Betty (Duff) Shute.

Sandra Ferreira Smith 77, died peacefully at Kindred Hospital in Worburn, MA. Sandra is the sister of Ruth Houghton.

Specialist Wade A. Slack, 21, of Waterville, Maine died in Afghanistan. Wade and some of his family members have been visitors to Chebeague Island, staying at Camp Providence for weekends over the last 10 – 12 years.

Born to Marketa (McGuire) Elsner and Zach Elsner of Seattle, WA, a son Elias Weld Elsner. Eli was born at 907 pm, weighing 7 lbs. 0.5 oz and 20 inches long. He is welcomed by Grandparents Bob McGuire and Judy Keil, Helena McGuire and Jon Ferriss, Ron and Marge Elsner, by Great grandparents William McGuire, Eileen Morris and Dorothy Elsner. The family is looking forward to Eli’s first visit to the island this summer.

Janet Elizabeth (Sykes) Bowden, 78, of Locksmith Lane, died, at York Hospital in York, following a brief illness.

Lillian Victoria Brown Dodd, 97, died in Quincy, Mass.

Edwin (Bounce) B. Nida, 76, passed away in New Hampshire.

Born to Brooke (West) and John Williams, a son, Jackson Thomas Williams. Jackson was born at 220 pm, weighs 8 lbs. 14 ozs. and is 20 and 1/2 inches long. Big Sister, Ellie, is thrilled to have a little brother. All are doing very well. Grandparents Jack and Gail Williams and Susan and Richard West are also thrilled with the latest edition to their families. Betty Shute and Ellie Hill, are his Chebeague great-grandmothers.
