Eliza Grafton Burke, 27, died in Portland, Me. She is the granddaughter of Kate Kennedy and Nathanael Greene.

Helena (Heli) McGuire (nee Bartonova) of Gainesville, GA, died. She is the mother of Christina McGuire and Markéta McGuire.

Gail R. (nee Hamilton) Johnson, 82, died in Levittown, PA. Gail was the daughter of Raymond Hamilton.

Grace Nicklas Warne, 59, of Stamford, CT, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. She is the daughter of Marilyn (Squires) and Richard Nicklas of Chebeague and Ft. Myers, FL. Grace spent summers on the island along with her husband, David and daughters Charlotte and Susanna.

Gary Wayne Varney, 79, of Lisbon, Maine and Chebeague Island died. Memorial service August 26 at 1pm at Lindquist Funeral Home, 1 Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth, ME

Mary Elizabeth “Biz” Rogers, 98, passed away peacefully after a brief illness. She had a long life in which many summers were occupied with time on Chebeague. She is survived by her 3 children, Geoffrey, Dorian and Jonathan, and their families.

Born to Sarah (Layng) & Sam Lerner, a boy, Chase Jackson Lerner at 7 lbs 4 oz. He is the twelfth grandchild of Amanda and John Layng and great grandchild of the late Jeanne and Gardiner Layng.

Sherman Everett Hamilton, 86, of Canco Road, passed away at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. The service will be on Chebegue Saturday Sept. 23, 2023 at 115 (1215 Boat).

Rodman Bukeley Webb, 82, of Cottage Road, died in Gainesville, Florida, after a five-decade battle against a rare liver disease. He is survived by his wife, Elise, daughters Lindsey and Laurie and their families, brothers Jeff, Toby and Hendy, nephews Kip and Sandy and niece Martha, nephews Nick and Nat Webb and many other family members who have shared his love of Chebeague.

Brent David Prescott, 65, died in Weare, New Hampshire following a fall. Brent is the son of Pat Prescott.
